Droplets are Linux-based virtual machines (VMs) that run on virtualized hardware in DigitalOcean. Each Droplet you create is a separate server that you can use on its own or as part of a larger cloud-based infrastructure. I really appreciate how Digital Ocean makes it easy to move web programs to the cloud. It's also been great to be able to use contractors without providing them access to our internal network. I enjoy not having to worry about our web apps' security, and I intend to shift more stuff to the digital ocean in the future. You have complete control over how you interact with your Droplets. The UI, CLI, API, and Terraform Provider make it easy to manage virtual machines. You can resize a Droplet or a group of them horizontally.
